With the help of the good people of the University of New Hampshire Jackson Estuarine Laboratory, we have deployed a package of instruments in the Great Bay estuary in New Hampshire. The datalogger is a Tattletale 5F manufactured by Onset Computer Corporation. With this datalogger we have interfaced the following sensors:
The depth, temperature, and salinity measurements are not accurate by industry standards. However, they are useful for showing correlation with turbidity and chlorophyll a. All of these parameters have a strong tidal influence and are affected by the local weather.
The package of instruments is held in place between an anchor and subsurface buoy. The sensors are positioned approximately 2 meters above the bottom of the bay.
Data Sets
The following pages show plots of the time series with a description of the weather conditions and other events occuring during the time period over which the data was collected.
